Overview

As Payroll Manager, you will work with our Payroll Team to support our assisted living communities with excellence and superior customer service. This role will work with a team of payroll professionals to review and process payroll from multiple assisted living communities owned or managed by Aegis Living, which are located across Washington, California, and Nevada. This employee will perform these tasks while maintaining a positive and productive relationship with our Aegis team members.

 

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll process for around 2,000 employees across 38 communities. In this leadership role, you’ll collaborate with HR, Business Office Managers, and General Managers to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time each week. You’ll also be a key driver in optimizing payroll systems and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management: Supervise the weekly payroll for 2,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and timely processing across multiple locations.
  • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with HR, Business Office Managers, and General Managers to resolve payroll issues and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in payroll processes and implement system enhancements to boost accuracy and efficiency.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Create comprehensive payroll reports, including commissions, bonuses, and deductions. Ensure compliance during audits and benefit reviews.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage payroll processes for new hires, terminations, and changes, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Leadership: Lead the payroll team, driving best practices for payroll execution and ensuring the smooth operation of the payroll function.
  • Ad-Hoc Reports: Provide timely payroll-related reports for senior management as needed.
  • Legal Compliance: Maintain payroll processes in full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in payroll management or senior-level payroll roles, preferably within a medium to large-sized organization.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for payroll reporting and data management.
    • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, KRONOS, UKG).
    • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
    • Basic familiarity with accounting and bookkeeping principles.
